He comments that one of the most humbling, honoring, and demanding invitations of his life was being the keynote speaker at the National Convention of the Order of the Purple Heart: “Speaking to those veterans who had spilled their blood for our country was one of the highest privileges of my life. I shall never forget their graciousness and how the Lord seemed to give me His words to cover all the bases necessary of sacrifice, purpose, and significance.”
